This chilli variety pack is the Chef’s Chilli Choice. A delicious selection of chillies that are fantastic for cooking. You get 5 varieties with 10-12 seeds per kind. There’s nothing like adding some extra spice to your cooking. This pack is specifically designed for the kitchen.
These five varieties are all fantastic producers, so you will get lots of chillies for your cooking. If you have lots of chilli pods you can freeze them in little bags, so it’s easy to for you to use when you need them. You can make some delicious powder as well, all you need to do it dry the chillies in a dehydrator. Food dehydrators for cheap and we recommend the round on and you can get them for about $35 AUD with free shipping.
If you want to use the seeds you should dry the pods on 30 degrees celsius and just leave the pods till they are dry. You can dry them at 70 degrees celsius, if you don’t need the seeds. Then it will go much fast drying the chillies.
We use a electric coffee grinder to powder up to dry pods. It is hectic and we can’t recommend using the grinder for coffee beans afterwards.
This packet contains:
Jalapeno – one of the most known chilli peppers in the World. Cultivated in Mexico and let them mature to a bright red colour, and you will find they taste so sweet and fruit. Plus the heat level will increase when they are mature.
Giant Asian Birds Eye – for Asian cooking and excellent for pickling
Bert the Chilli – from Australia. Our favourite chilli for pickling, but it would be a great chilli for any dish. Fantastic producer.
Criolla Sella – Great for seafood with a great heat and they have the most amazing citrus scent when they are dried.
St. Martin Habanero – Their brilliant colour and intense fiery heat will be good to add some heat in the dish.
