Sugar Rush Stripey
‘Stunning looking chilli pepper’
C. Baccatum
Sugar Rush Stripey is an amazing looking chilli variety. Chris Fowler from the United Kingdom did an excellent job breeding from the Sugar Rush Peach. The plant grows well in a pot to over a meter in height and if you can grow in the ground, you will get a massive plant.
The pods have a cool shape that tapers at the end. First the pods start off with a light yellow/green and end up a beautiful peach/orange colour with red stripes, when they are fully mature.
Like many of the Aji varieties, they have a very long season and produce lots of these amazing peppers during the season.
Extraordinary chilli with a fruity flavour and a light sweetness and the heat level was surprisingly hot. Hotter than the Sugar Rush peach. One you must have in your chilli patch.
Flavour wise: Fruity with a light sweetness coming through.
Heat level: Upper medium heat level.
