Storage Guidelines for Chili Seeds
1. Storage Instructions
General Storage: If you do not intend to sow the chili seeds purchased from us within one month, please adhere to the following storage instructions:
- Transfer the chili seeds from the original plastic bag to a paper envelope, such as a coin envelope.
- Store the envelope in a dry, dark location, such as a drawer.
- If stored in a refrigerator, ensure that excess moisture is removed.
- Do not freeze the seeds.
Labeling: Write the name of the chili variety and the date of storage on the envelope.
2. Storage Containers
Plastic/Glass Containers: If storing in a plastic or glass container, include an equal amount of a desiccant, such as Silica Gel (available from eBay) or uncooked rice.
Avoidance of Certain Conditions: Do not store the seeds in sunny locations, areas of high humidity, or near heat sources such as radiators.
3. Seed Longevity
Expected Duration: The seeds can remain viable for up to five years if stored in a dry, dark, and cool environment.
4. Seed Viability
Air Circulation: Chilli seeds are living organisms and require adequate air circulation. Storing seeds in a plastic bag with even minimal moisture can lead to mold growth and destroy the seeds.
5. General Note
We wish you a successful growing season and hope that you enjoy cultivating a variety of chilies with diverse flavors, colors, and unique shapes.
Please note that the cultivation of these seeds is not solely about heat.
