Description
Caramel Reaper
‘The Caramel Reaper will release madness into your favorite chilli garden’
Capsicum Chinense
The Caramel Reaper is a natural mutation from the original Carolina Reaper. Chillies change colours and that is how we get the different colours of the same variety. It may revert back to the original red colour.
The Carolina Reaper was awarded the Guinness World Record as the new World’s Hottest Pepper.
If you like insane heat, the Caramel Reaper will blow your head off. A wicked looking chilli, that grows well in a pot and even better in a garden bed. Ours are in garden beds and grow to over one meter in height.
First the pods start off a light green and change to a caramel colour, when they are fully mature. The tails can vary in length.
An outrageously hot pepper that would be a great for creating your own hot sauce, a chilli salt or powder. If you want to use it for cooking, you will have to be careful as the heat level is extreme.
This insanely hot chilli will make you fell like it tears your tongue out of your mouth, make you sweat and feel hot right up to your nostrils and ears. Only the bravest manage to eat it whole but it is a heroic undertaking!
Warning: Not for the faint-hearted. Use gloves when you handle this variety and have a chopping board, just for super hot peppers.
Growing tip: Shade is what this variety likes, so don’t give it full sun all day.
Pod size: 5-6 cm long and 3 cm wide
Flavour: They have a light fruitiness and a slight floral flavour as well. That is if you actually can taste them over the insane heat level.
Heat wise: Extreme – very deep burn and they cause a lot of pain.
10-12 Caramel Reaper chilli seeds per pack
