Yaki Blue

‘Yaki Blue is a stunning hot chilli variety’

C. Chinense

The Yaki Blue is a cross between a Bhut Jolokia and a Filius Blue. If you love an astonishing and breathtaking chilli variety, this one is for you. The colour change of the pods is a chapter by itself.

The plant grows to one meter in both height and width, and has purple stems and dark green leaves.

The pods start off a dark purple, almost black, and then they change to a burgundy colour. The final colour is a dark red with a blackish tinge.

This hot pepper would be a great choice for creating your own hot sauce, a chilli salt or powder. If you want to use it for cooking, you will have to be careful as the heat level is really hot.

All in all, this is an astonishing chilli plant, easy to grow and you will get lots of hot peppers.

Growing tip: Shade is what this variety likes, so don’t give it full sun all day.

Pod size: Golf ball size.

Flavour: The recognizable Chinense flavour with floral tones.

Heat wise: Hot

10-12 chilli seeds per pack

Amazing plant with beautiful coloured leaves. Some of the pods have cool little stingers and look a bit like a Reaper & others are short and squat a bit like a Crown pepper. Looking forward to trying to over winter my plants and making a hot sauce with the pods!
