Thunder Mountain Longhorn Chilli

Capsicum Annuum

“Nice taste of capsicum combined with a light smoky flavour”

Thunder Mountain Longhorn chilli is a C. Annuum variety. The plant grows to about 75 cm in a pot and produces some of the longest chillies we ever have seen. Once you dehydrate them, they have a nice taste of capsicum combined with a light smoky flavour. It has an upper medium heat and would be excellent to add in any dish.

The pods go from green to red and get to about 30 cm long or even longer. Some curls up resembling a spiral. Really cool looking pods.

In the south west of Guizhou in China, The Mountains of Leigongshan (Mountain of Thunder) stands as natural fortress. In the area around Thunder Mountains they grow some amazing chillies. Among them is the rare Thunder Mountain Longhorn Chilli. First they let the sun dry the chillies and afterwards  they put them in charcoal heated hot houses, so they get a sun dried flavour combined with a smoky flavour – a flavour that makes them completely unique.

Flavour:  Very sweet and if they are dried, they get a bit of a smoky flavour
Heat wise: Mid heat

10-12 chilli seeds per pack.
