Tanzanian Ghost
‘A Ghost Chilli from Tanzania used to scare the Elephants’
C. Chinense
The Tanzanian Ghost is used to keep the elephants away from the farmers crop in Africa. Several years ago we were contact by African farmers requiring super hot chillies to protect their crops from elephants. They found by growing super hot chillies, it kept the elephants from eating their crop.
The plant grows well in a pot to about 80 cm in height and is a fairly bushy type of chilli. Furthermore a good producer of extremely hot pods with a delicious flavour. First the chillies start off green and ripen to a fiery red.
When you dry these pods, they get a smokey flavour, so they would make a delicious powder. Also a great choice for making your own hot sauce, however, if you use these when you cook, be careful due to the extreme heat level.
All in all beautiful flavoured chillies with an extreme heat level, grows well in a pot or the ground and a great producer.
Flavour: Initially you get a light chinense flavour, and dried they are smokey.
Heat level: Extreme
10-12 chilli seeds per pack
