The Tabasco Pepper is another great chilli from Mexico. The peppers are named after the Mexican state of Tabasco. Since 1868 this chilli pepper has been famous in the US with the introduction of the McIlhenny Company’s hot pepper sauce “Tabasco”.
This bushy plant grows well to about 1.5 metre in a pot and is one of the best producers of peppers. The tapered pods are about 4 cm long and very thin. A beautiful looking plant with an amazing colour change from white, creamy with purple, yellow, orange through to red. A rainbow of colours.
Its fiery heat make it one of the most recognized and famous of all peppers.
