Shishito Pepper
‘Beautiful mild Japanese Chilli’
C. Annuum
Finally we got the Shishito Pepper, one we have been wanting to grow for years. A chilli people rave about, apparently not hot, but it is not all about the heat merely about flavour.
The plants aren’t big, and get to approximate 50 cm in height. This stocky little chilli plant grows well in a pot, and is easy to grow. Furthermore an amazing producer of ribbed and thin walled pods, starting off green and mature to a deep red colour.
They are normally consumed green, fried in oil till the skin blisters, and then sprinkled with salt, also used tempura style.
