Poblano Chilli
Capsicum Annuum
“Excellent for stuffing.”
Poblano chilli is a mild pepper originating from the state of Puebla in Mexico. When dried, the Poblano is called the Ancho Chilli.
The Poblano plant grows to over a metre tall in a pot and would probably grow bigger if you plant it in the ground. An immature Poblano is dark purplish green in colour, but when it matures it turns red. Poblano’s excellent for stuffing, but check out this link and you’ll find heaps of yummy recipes.
To make Ancho powder, you have to dehydrate the Poblano chillies.
