Naga Morich

Naga Morich originates from Bangladesh and is one of the hottest peppers in the world. The name means “snake or serpent Chilli” and is an apt name for this ferociously hot variety. It is believed to be The thin walled wrinkled pods have a high degree of variability in shape, although they are generally wedge shaped. They average about 5 cm long by 2.5 cm wide. They ripen from a rich green through to yellow/orange and finally to a rich red approximately 120 days after transplanting. The plants are large and bushy, growing to one meter tall. Leaves are ovate in shape and pale green in colour. It is used sparingly (and with great care!) in Bengali cookery.
We use the Naga Morich in our Morry Morich Ghost Sauce.
