Habanada Habanero
‘Sweet and mild with a apple tinge, it’s delicious’
Capsicum Chinense
The Habanada Habanero is a chilli developed by Michael Mazourek. He was studying at Cornell University in 2001, when he received a mysterious packet of seeds from researchers in New Mexico. They soon became the focus of Michael’s research due to the delicious flavour and mild heat.
You can eat them green and unripe for a potent hit of aroma, or savour the habanadas’ full potential as a bright orange flavour bomb.
A stocky plant, that grows to about 40-50 cm in height and is an amazing producer of chilli peppers. First they start off a lightish green and ripen to a vibrant orange it is a beautiful looking plant.
Crisp and crunchy pods with a slight chinense flavour and it is really sweet, almost like a Pink Lady apple. What an amazing flavour and we love it.
Would be great for a chilli jam, fresh in a salad or a fantastic powder.
All in all a stunning looking plant and an amazing producer of delicious tasting chillies, it’s definitely one worth growing.
