Fushimi Chilli is very popular for tempura and Japanese dishes. It is very easy to grow and very prolific. We’ve tried a lot of chillies and this is one of the nicest flavoured chillies we have ever tried.
These mildly spiced Japanese chilli peppers are most commonly prepared blistered in oil, seasoned with sea salt and served as a finger food. Also amazing battered and fried tempura style or great for skewering and grilling over an open fire. They pair very well with garlic, soy sauce and brown sugar when used in any style of cooking and are also great for pickling.
The plant grows to about 40 cm tall in a pot and the pods are about 14-16 cm long & 2 cm wide, go from a light green to red, when they are mature.
