El Oro De Ecuador
El Oro De Ecuador Chilli is a baccatum variety from Ecuador. It’s a big busy gangly plant with lots of delicious yellow pods. The plant grows really well in a pot to 1.5 metre high, and it would get massive if you plant it in the ground.
Capsicums Baccatums often need to be staked as they grow long and lanky. The El Oro De Ecuador fills with yellow pods 3-4 cm long and 2-3 cm wide, that start green and turn yellow when they are ripe. An awesome producer and a bonus – it seems to like the cooler weather as it’s still growing and podding up in the Australian winter.
A great plant and an awesome producer. The flavour is beautiful, sweet and fruity. A chilli anyone can handle heat wise and it would be great using with any dish as not overpowering heat wise. We totally recommend this for anyone to grow that wants something a bit out of the normal.
Flavour wise: Very crunchy, fairly thick walled with an sweet and fruity light capsicum flavour.
Heat wise: Mid heat.
