Dalle Khursani Chilli
‘Delicious chilli from Nepal’
C. Annuum
Dalle Khursani Chilli is a unique and rare chilli from Nepal. Widely used for pickling.
The plant grows well in a pot to about 1 meter in height, and looks like a little cherry tree. Very easy to grow and is a great producer of small pods.
The pods start of green and end up a bright red colour, when they are fully mature. The texture of the chilli is soft and squeezy like the Serrano Pepper. So very different from other chillies.
Delicious sweet flavour and a great heat level.
How to pickle chillies:
White vinegar
1 tbsp of sugar per 100 ml of vinegar
1 fresh organic lime
Chillies
Cut the lime into thin slices. Put a few slice of lime in a clean jar. Then add some chillies, slices of lime, and a layer of chilli again. Add sugar (Use 1 tablespoon of sugar per 100 ml of vinegar). Pour in white vinegar filling the jar. Put the lid on and leave for a month.
Pods size: 1.5 cm
Flavour: Sweet
Heat: Upper mid heat
