Description
Bih Jolokia
Capsicum Chinense
The Bih Jolokia is from India and is well known for its extreme heat and flavour. It belongs to the Naga family and some call it the Ghost Chilli.
In 2004 the Assam-based company Frontal Agritech had this chilli HPLC-tested and reported 1,041,427 SHU. That’s hot, so we had to get them and now you can too. In the North Eastern Region of India it is extensively cultivated especially in the states of Assam, Nagaland and Manipur.
The plants grow to well over 1 metre and is an amazing producer. The pods start off a light green and turn to a beautiful to a bright red, when they are fully mature. We use the Bih Jolokia in our NagaKarry sauce.
All in all this variety is an awesome producer of insanely hot peppers and furthermore it loves the Australian climate.
Flavour wise: Taste is very similar to the Bhut Jolokia, its more sweet with a little less of the bitterish bhut flavour
Heat level: EXTREME
