Aleppo Pepper
‘A highly desirable variety of chilli, popular for its warm and fruity flavour’
C. Annuum
Aleppo Pepper is a rare chilli variety from the northern Syria, named after one of the oldest cities in the world Aleppo. For a thousand years the people of this city have had food on their mind and Aleppo has been a gourmet capital. Unfortunately four years of war has left this old city in ruins.
The plant grows well in a pot to 70 cm in height, and planted in the ground, it will grow bigger. A variety that is very easy to grow, and furthermore an early producing variety. Therefor an excellent choice if you are a newbie in growing chilli peppers.
The pods start off green and end up red, when they are fully mature.
In the Middle Eastern cuisine, this delicious chilli is commonly used dried and crushed into flakes.
