Scotch Bonnet
Capsicum Chinense
“The pods are bigger than a golf ball”
Scotch Bonnet originates from the Caribbean Islands. The Scotch Bonnet is a variety of chili pepper similar to and of the same species as the habanero. It’s named for its resemblance to a Scotsman’s bonnet. The plant grows to about 70 cm in a pot and even bigger if you plant it in the ground. The pods are bigger than a golf ball, heavy and globular shaped, ripen from light green to bright red.
This is one of our favourite chillies for everyday cooking, because of its delicious flavour.
