Pequin Chilli

Capsicum Annuum

“Do not let the size fool you. It is hot!”

Pequin Chilli is also known as Pequin Pepper or Chile Pequin. The Pequin chilli grows wild in Mexico and is almost 10 times hotter than a jalapeno.

The pods are very small and a slightly elongated oval. It starts of green and end up a bright red or red-orange, when it is fully mature. When you dry them they change colour to a brownish-red and the average size is 1-1.5 cm long and 0.5 cm wide, but do not let the size fool you. It is hot!

This chilli pepper is easy to grow and an amazing producer. It will look great in the garden, when it is full of little red pods.

Flavour wise it has a complex, smoky, citrus & nutty flavour. They are excellent for pickling, in salsa, soups or any dish very you want some heat. The green fruits usually are pickled and the red ones are mostly dried.

Flavour: Citrus & nutty flavour with some smokiness to them as well.

Heat level:   Upper mid heat

10-12 chilli seeds per pack
